Running! Another thing to write about!
Kallen is the editor of GeekyLibrary, web coordinator at Pacific University, former journalist and a very slow runner.
On the more athletic side of things, Kallen started running in 2012 due to peer pressure. She completed her first half-marathon in January 2014 and in October 2015, completed her first full marathon. She loves running with friends and tries not to take herself too seriously.
She was once a bike racer, and as a Jr. Woman 17-18, won OBRA‘s Best-All Around Rider.
She enjoys being a less competitive runner, although she does miss racing on the Alpenrose Velodrome.
Kallen also enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, backpacking and is considering picking up swimming for a potential triathlon.
She lives in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley with her husband Jason, who can literally run circles around her.
